Analogue and Digital Illustration Techniques for Storytelling
A group of fifth grade students wrote and illustrated a book, featuring one of their school’s values: respect. I joined their sessions to share illustration practices and digital techniques. The students learnt to digitally apply colour to their illustrations using Adobe Photoshop. The students were prepared with their hand-drawn pencil illustrations. They then traced those marks with black ink and then digitally applied colour. The solid, flat, and vibrant colours emphasised their initial story and drawings.
